I wrote in this post about being contacted by a direct descendant of Jesse BUTROID and Sarah ALLEN. He has very kindly provided me with more details which has enabled me to corroborate some entries in my family history.

Jesse BUTROID and Sarah ALLEN's marriage certificate shows they were married on the 20th of October 1884 at St Saviours Church, Clarborough, Nottinghamshire, England. Ziller ALLEN (my great grandmother) and Edward PALMER were witnesses. Jesse BUTROID's father is shown as John BUTROID; Sarah ALLEN's father is shown as John ALLEN (my great great grandfather).
